Not Using That Domain? Then Use it to Get Paid

If you have domains that are just sitting around you may be able to make money on them. There are a couple of ways that you may be able to profit from your unused or barely used domains. The first is very obvious, sell it. There are many different sites that are available to help you sell your domains. There are basically two types of such websites. There are companies that you pay for listing on their website only and then you have companies that will post your listing to multiple sites when listing your domain for sale. Some companies will not allow you to list your domain with other companies if you have listed it for public auctions. So be careful to check all the rules before listing your domain.

The only place I have seen that offers the service for free is a web hosting company that offered it to their clients. Even if your hosting company offers it for free the amount of searches they have is probably not going to compare to a paid service. The domain companies that charge for the service will usually charge an upfront fee and percentage of the price your domain sells for. Domains are selling for as little as 5 bucks and on up depending on what your domains appraised value is. If you want to know what the value of your domain is some companies will appraise your domain for free when you list it for sale. But if you would like to get an appraisal prior to listing your domain they usually charge between $15 and $30.

The other way to make money from your unused or barely used domain is to park it with a domain company and allow them to use it for traffic. They present ads on your parked domains that will generate income for them. When income is generated they will then split it with you for letting them use your domain. I have seen companies that will give you as much as 80 percent of the revenues gained from the ads for allowing them to use your parked domain.

So as you see even if you have not come up with that million dollar idea website you don't have to just sit there doing nothing and broke. You can do almost nothing and make some money.
